Canada Express Entry Draw: Know the process
The Express Entry system is a point-based system (Comprehensive Ranking System), under which candidates are compared and evaluated based on certain factors and awarded points for the same, and the candidates with higher points are issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada. Thus, in the Express Entry draws, the Canadian government establishes a cut-off score, depending on the Comprehensive Ranking System, and candidates scoring above the cut-off score receive an ITA.
How frequently Canada Express Entry draws are held?
Generally, the Express Entry draws are held on a bi-weekly schedule, which means about every two weeks. However, if there is a longer gap between two draws, in the successive draw, a larger number of invitations are issued. Moreover, every Express Entry draw has a tie-break date and time, and candidates have to submit their profiles before this tie-break date and time in order to be eligible to receive an ITA.
Invitation to Apply (ITA)
To start with the immigration process to Canada under the Express Entry system, the candidate must first submit an online profile in the Express Entry pool. The candidates are ranked against each other on the basis of the Comprehensive Ranking System, and candidates with higher points receive an invitation by IRCC to apply for permanent resident status in Canada.
