The 11th Express Entry draw of 2023 occurred recently, and IRCC issued 3,500 invitations to eligible candidates. This was an all-program draw of Express Entry, with a minimum CRS score of 483. The all-program candidates belong to the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, and FSTP.
This recent draw on April 12 issued ITAs to only 50 percent of the candidates compared to the number of candidates who received ITAs in the previous three draws. All three draws on March 15, 23, and 29 sent invitations to 7,000 candidates. The draw also witnessed a rise in CRS scores from 481 to 486.
Likewise, the higher CRS scores and the draw size align more with the previous draws that occurred in 2022 and initially this year.
11th Express Entry draw of 2023- the major achievements in March
In 2023, March turned out to be a month with more than 21,000 ITAs issued. Moreover, this month was the only one with a high number of ITAs issued. This number of ITAs also proved to be the second-highest in Express Entry records. Whereas the highest number of ITAs were issued in 2021 in February under the Canadian Experience Class, a single draw with 27, 332 ITAs.
The first March draw this year issued the highest number of invitations, up to 7,000 in an all-program draw. Also, the subsequent draws resent the same figure of invitations, with a total of 21,000 ITAs over just two weeks. The monthly total turned out to be 21,667 ITAs, with the remaining ITAs issued in a draw during the March draw. It targeted only the candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program.
Overall, four Express Entry draws occurred in March, one each week. However, typically, the draws occur on Wednesdays, once in two weeks.
Express Entry
Express Entry is a digital application management system that emerged in 2015 to assess and rank candidates. This system evaluated the candidates under Canada’s three chief economic class immigration programs, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and FSTP.
These chief programs’ candidates are generally seen to have higher levels of skills and expertise. The system believes that these programs’ candidates can establish themselves well in this country.
Additionally, the Comprehensive Ranking System evaluates them based on a different set of human capital factors. These include their work experience, occupation, language skills, and educational background.
Those candidates with superior scores will be able to obtain an invitation to apply in a forthcoming Express Entry draw. However, once they accept it, they must submit their final application within 60 days. This is going to be a permanent residence application submission to IRCC.
After this, the IRCC officer will verify and review it to determine whether they can get Canadian Permanent Residency status approval.
