893 PNP invitations were issued in the recent Express Entry draw. The third Express Entry draw of 2023 took place recently and invited Provincial Nominee Program candidates. This draw had a minimum score of 733 under the Comprehensive Ranking System. Ever since the draws resumed in July last year, this was the first program-specific draw.
The all-program draws tend to invite candidates under any of the Express Entry programs. These draws don’t have a provincial nomination. On the other hand, Provincial Nominee Programs enable the Canadian province to invite individuals through nomination. The provinces nominate candidates who can integrate with the labor market and the aims of the Canadian population.
Apart from this, excluding Nunavut and Quebec, all other provinces have PNPs associated with Express Entry. Also, receiving a provincial nomination enhances the CRS score by 600 extra points.
Under the recent specific program draw, Express Entry candidates required the least CRS score of 133 before obtaining a provincial nomination for gaining eligibility.
Most recent Express Entry outcomes
Express Entry draws started three weeks ago after the temporary pause after the draw on November 23 last year. The draws resumed on January 11, 2023, and the department conducted another surprising draw on January 18.
Although the reason for the unexpected temporary pause has not been specified, it is estimated that it occurred due to some technical flaw. The glitch happened because of the execution of the National Occupation Classification on November 16, 2022.
According to IRCC, replacing the older NOC 2016 with the latest version of NOC 2021 caused the system to undergo some technical issues. However, these technical issues have been worked upon, so the first Express Entry all-program draw of 2023 took place on January 11, 2023.
In the January 11 draw, candidates received 5,500 invitations with the least CRS score of 507. The following week after this draw, IRCC held another unexpected draw on January 18. Additionally, the number of ITAs remained the same, while the CRS score declined to 490.
However, recently 893 PNP invitations were issued in Express Entry draw PNP-specific draw.
IRCC also confirmed that it continues to work on conducted draws regularly. Since the Express Entry draws came into existence in 2015, draws have been held consistently. These happened on Wednesdays, once in two weeks.
Moreover, even when the long haul of these draws happened between December 2020 and July 2022, IRCC issued invitations to Express Entry candidates under PNP.
The concept of Express Entry emerged due to the idea of inviting candidates who aligned with the skills required by the Canadian government. Moreover, such candidates will positively impact the Canadian workforce and economy.

Express Entry works through its three primary Canadian immigration programs. The programs are the Federal Skilled Worker Program, FSTP, and the Canadian Experience Class. Those candidates under the PNP who exist in the Express Entry pool immediately become eligible for any one program.
Overall, the Express Entry system provides scores to candidates to compete with other eligible candidates. Candidates with the top scores further receive an ITA to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
Once the candidate applies, the IRCC officer reviews the application and determines whether it will be approved. Post the completion of this process, if the officer might approve it. After the approval, the candidate becomes a Canadian permanent resident and can proceed to attain Canadian citizenship.
