First Designated Employers Are Announced For RCIP & FCIP PR

The first designated employers are announced for RCIP & FCIP PR. Well, both RCIP, i.e., Rural Community Immigration Pilot and FCIP, i.e., Francophone Community Immigration Pilot are employer-focused pathways.

All foreign nationals need a job offer from a designated employer to be eligible for these permanent residency pathways.

Designated employers are those that an economic development organization in the community has approved.

In the case of Timmins, this is the Timmins Economic Development Corporation.

RCIP Employers

The following employers have been designated under the RCIP:

  • 360 Boring Services Inc.
  • Agnico Eagle Mines Limited.
  • Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins.
  • Boudreau Automotive Mechanic.
  • Dark Enterprise.
  • EV Nickel Inc.
  • Pepco.

FCIP Employers

Only one employer has been designated for the FCIP, i.e., Fermes Sansoucy Ltee.

Eligibility Criteria

The first designated employers are announced for RCIP & FCIP PR. Apart from having a job offer from one of the employers above, the offer must also be for a priority profession under Timmins’ RCIP or FCIP.

Foreign nationals also need to meet other criteria.

Work Experience

Foreign nationals need to have a minimum of one year of related work experience in the last three years.

‘Related work experience’ should be:

  • At a skill level close to the Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities (TEER) category of the NOC listed in the job offer
  • Include actions listed in the description of the NOC code
  • Include most of the main duties

Language Ability

The minimum score required depends on the NOC TEER of the job offer.

Foreign nationals need to have a Canadian educational credential or the foreign equivalent.

A Canadian educational credential is a high school diploma or a recognized Canadian post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree from a designated learning institution.

Settlement Funds

Workers need to have sufficient money to support the transition for themselves and their families into the community.

The money needed is based on the size of the family.
