Brandon Unveils Designated Employers For Rural PR Pathway

Brandon unveils designated employers for rural PR pathway.

Brandon, the second largest city in Manitoba, has officially shared its list of designated employers for the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP). This move opens doors for eligible foreign workers hoping to settle permanently in the Brandon area through this community-focused immigration stream.

Brandon’s RCIP community boundaries cover a 25km radius that includes the City of Brandon and nearby communities such as Brandon Hills, Chater, Cornwallis, and Riverdale. This broad coverage helps attract skilled workers who want to live and work in Manitoba’s thriving rural economy.

The RCIP is an employer-driven immigration pilot that aims to attract newcomers to smaller communities. To qualify, applicants must secure a valid job offer from one of Brandon’s approved designated employers listed under this pilot. Once all criteria are met, successful applicants can apply for Canadian permanent residency (PR).

Who Is Eligible To Apply For Brandon RCIP?

In addition to holding a job offer from one of the approved employers, candidates must ensure their job aligns with Brandon’s RCIP priority occupations.

Applicants must also meet other requirements such as having related work experience (or qualifying under the international graduate exemption), meeting language and education standards, and showing they have enough funds to settle themselves and any family members.

Eligible candidates who meet all conditions can receive a certificate of recommendation from the community and apply for PR through the federal government. While waiting for PR, they may also be eligible for an LMIA-exempt work permit to start working in Brandon sooner.
