Alberta hosts the biggest PNP draw of 2025, i.e., the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has conducted its largest provincial immigration draw of the year, issuing 581 invitations to apply under the Alberta Opportunity Stream last week.
In addition, the province also invited candidates through its Dedicated Health Care Pathway, under both Express Entry and non-Express Entry streams.
Altogether, Alberta extended 683 invitations across three separate draws held in the second week of August.
Summary Of Draws (August 7 – 15)
Between August 7 and 15, the AAIP carried out three rounds of invitations.
The biggest of these draws was on August 12, which focused on the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
Draw Stream | Minimum Score Of Invited Candidates | Number Of Invitations |
Alberta Opportunity Stream | 70 | 581 |
Dedicated Healthcare Pathway – non Express Entry | 53 | 39 |
Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Express Entry | 56 | 63 |
The Alberta Opportunity Stream is designed for temporary foreign workers who are already employed full-time in Alberta and hold a valid job offer in an eligible occupation from an employer in the province.
Meanwhile, two other draws were conducted on August 7 and 15 through the Dedicated Health Care Pathway.
Pathways For Healthcare Professionals
Alberta hosts the biggest PNP draw of 2025. Well, the Dedicated Health Care Pathway gives eligible candidates working in health care the chance to apply for permanent residence (PR) if they have a job offer in Alberta. Applicants can pursue this pathway in two ways – through Express Entry or non-Express Entry.
Those applying via Express Entry are processed through the federal immigration system and follow Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) timelines.
On the other hand, the non-Express Entry route is meant for candidates who may not qualify for Alberta’s Express Entry stream but still have a valid job offer in an eligible health care occupation. Successful applicants go through the province’s base Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) process.
Remaining Nominations For 2025
