This week’s round of invitations is the second-largest Healthcare-focused draw of 2025, following the July 22 draw where 4,000 candidates received ITAs.

It is also the fifth Express Entry draw this month and the second of the week.

Since May, IRCC has conducted a Healthcare and social services category-based draw every month, marking a significant policy shift. Notably, no Healthcare-specific draws were held in the earlier part of 2025. This change shows Canada’s determination to strengthen its healthcare and social services workforce amid growing national demand.

Express Entry Trends In 2025

So far in 2025, IRCC has issued 55,820 ITAs across different draw types.

The year’s Express Entry draws reveal a clear pattern of prioritization. The majority of rounds have been Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws, but there has also been consistent focus on Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates, French-language proficiency draws, and Healthcare and social services draws.

Here’s a breakdown of draw types so far this year:

Draw Type Number Of Draws
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) 15
Canadian Experience Class (CEC) 8
French-language proficiency 4
Healthcare and social services 4
Education 1

What Does This Mean For Candidates?

This latest draw highlights a continued shift toward category-based selections. Healthcare professionals remain highly sought after, and candidates with experience in this sector may have an advantage in the coming months.

Candidates are encouraged to create or update their Express Entry profiles to ensure they remain in the pool for future draws.

With nearly 56,000 ITAs already issued in 2025, IRCC’s strategy suggests ongoing opportunities for skilled workers, especially in priority sectors such as healthcare, education, and French-language roles.
