Prince Edward Island Holds The Biggest Draw Of 2026

Prince Edward Island holds the biggest draw of 2026, i.e., on April 16, Prince Edward Island held its fourth draw of the year and issued the highest number of invitations so far in 2026.

The province invited individuals who are already living and working there in jobs and sectors that are in high demand.

Details Of The Latest Draw

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) issued a total of 127 invitations to eligible candidates.

Invitations were sent through two pathways, which are the only ones used by the province so far this year:

The province focused on candidates who are currently working in Prince Edward Island in priority sectors and occupations that support the local economy.

International graduates from three main institutions in the province were also given priority during this selection:

  • University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI);
  • Holland College; and
  • Collège de l’Île.

The PEI PNP has followed the same selection rules for all draws held in 2026 so far.

This draw also followed the province’s planned schedule for invitations. Earlier, the March 20 draw was held one day later than expected, but this latest draw took place as planned.

So far in 2026, Prince Edward Island has invited a total of 232 candidates to apply for provincial nomination.

How Candidates Can Apply Through PEI PNP?

Anyone who wants to apply through the PEI PNP must first create an account on the province’s official website. After that, they must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).

The province’s Office of Immigration reviews each profile to see how well the candidate can meet local job market needs.

Several factors are used to assess candidates under the EOI system, including:

  • Language skills in English or French
  • Education level, field of study, and where the education was completed
  • Work experience and skill level
  • Strategic priorities that match urgent labour market needs
  • Other employment-related factors, such as having a job offer or past work experience in Canada

After submitting an EOI, candidates can log in to check the status of their profile and see any updates.

Candidates who receive an invitation must submit a full application within 30 days. This is shorter than the earlier 60-day deadline.

Once a candidate receives a provincial nomination, they can apply to the federal government for permanent residence.
