The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) held two provincial immigration draws between August 14 and 19, inviting a total of 767 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.
The draws were held through the Alberta Opportunity Stream and the Dedicated Health Care Pathway (non-Express Entry).
The Alberta Opportunity Stream issued 743 invitations, while the healthcare pathway issued 24 invitations.
Following these latest draws, the AAIP has now held 71 provincial immigration draws in 2026.
Draw Details
The two draws had different minimum scores and invitation numbers. The Alberta Opportunity Stream accounted for most of the invitations issued during the two rounds.

The August 19 healthcare draw had the lowest number of invitations for this pathway so far in 2026.
As of August 25, Alberta had issued 11,982 invitations for provincial nomination during the year.
The latest healthcare draw was also the eighth healthcare-focused draw held by Alberta in 2026. The province has said that healthcare remains one of its key immigration priorities, along with construction, technology, and manufacturing.
Alberta’s Provincial Nomination Numbers
Alberta recently received an increase in its provincial nomination allocation for 2026. The province now has 6,603 nomination spaces, compared with the earlier allocation of 6,403.
According to Alberta’s AAIP information, 4,560 nominations had been issued as of August 25. This left 2,043 nomination spaces available for the rest of the year.

Alberta has also used additional nomination spaces outside its main 2026 allocation. These spaces have been used for 50 practice-ready physicians and 12 francophone candidates.
Worker Expressions Of Interest And Applications
The province also provided an update on its Worker Expression of Interest (WEOI) pool and applications waiting for a final decision.
As of August 25, the WEOI pool had 36,255 profiles. The Alberta Opportunity Stream made up around 62.5% of the total pool.
At the same time, 1,335 nomination applications were waiting for a final decision.

Note: AAIP entrepreneur streams are not represented in the worker EOI pool, as they follow a separate consideration process.
The latest draws show that the Alberta Opportunity Stream continues to account for a large share of Alberta’s provincial immigration selections.
