British Columbia has sent out invitations to apply to exactly 108 workers of the Information Technology field on the draw held on 5th October 2021. These workers can now be considered eligible to submit an application for a provincial nomination program. These invitations were provided to the workers through the BC PNP Tech, a pathway coming under the British Columbia Provincial Nomination. This British Columbia PNP Tech provides a stream to permanent residents to work as foreign tech workers with job offers in any of 29 authorized professions in British Columbia. They must have this job offer for at least 1 year and have a minimum of 120 days while submitting an application. It is for the first time in a year when the score dropped by 10 points from 80 points. Tech Pilot applications that have fast processing in comparison to British Columbia PNP programs. It takes some time between two or three months after a person has submitted their application.
How long will the British Columbia PNP Tech Pilot be active?
In May 2021, the province of British Columbia announced the extension of the Pilot Program for one year and this extension shows the commitment of the provincial government to develop and recruit efficient international workers in the technology field.
Eligibility Criteria and Application Process for the British Columbia PNP Tech Pilot
- Having received a valid job offer from one of the 29 mentioned professions is a must.
- You must require a job offer for at least one year of duration and 120 days left to complete your time span at the time of submitting your application in British Columbia PNP programs.
- If you are doing any job in the mentioned 29 professions whether it is permanent or temporary are valid and you will be eligible to apply for the PNP program.
- If you get an invitation to apply then you have to submit an online application within 30 days after receiving the invitation.
- If your application gets approved by the authorities then you will be issued a confirmation letter of Nomination which is required while applying for permanent residency status with IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) for the Provincial Nominee program.
