Saskatchewan conducted the first draw of the year to invite 104 applicants. The draw was conducted on 12th Jan’22.
Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) sent invites to applicants who could be eligible for two of its immigration streams. SINP’s Express Entry sub-category may get 37 applicants, and another 67 could fall under the Occupations In-Demand sub-category.
The expression of Interest (EOI) scoring threshold was kept at 68 points for both the pools.
The province sent invites to applicants who had a professional background/experience in any of the below-mentioned fields:
– Psychologists.
– medical laboratory technologists,
– medical sonographers,
– paramedical occupations,
– occupational therapists, and
– medical radiation technologists.
Educational Credential Assessments were also a part of the eligibility criteria. The assessment shows that whatever education the individual had in their country is applicable and matches the Canadian standard.
Saskatchewan’s Express Entry sub-category
This sub-category is considered an enhanced version. That means that it is an enhanced Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which is affiliated with the federal Express Entry system.
Express Entry system handles the three major streams:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program,
- Federal Skilled Trades Program, and
- Canadian Experience Class.
For the applicants in Express Entry, if they are interested in moving to Saskatchewan, then it is necessary to register an EOI system of the province. Only folks who have done this step become eligible for a nomination.
Individual who gets a nomination from Saskatchewan are entitled to 600 points in their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. While applying for Canadian permanent residency, the nomination effectively increases their chance of getting the invite.
Occupations In-Demand sub-category.
This sub-category is specifically for individuals who do not go through the federal stream. However, aspirants for this stream should be skilled individuals and should have experience in any of the in-demand jobs of Saskatchewan. If they do not have any job offer in the province, then also they can apply for this stream.
The process remains similar to the previously discussed sub-category. They need to create an EOI profile. The EOI system will determine eligibility. That is assessed on the basis of your demographic details as well as your connection/network in Saskatchewan, which will help you in settling in the province.
