Canadian Express Entry- 636 invites sent to PNP candidates

The latest Express Entry Draw was conducted on June 22 and sent 636 invitations to PNP candidates. The invited candidates had previously received a Provincial Nominee Program and a minimum score of 752 under the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System). The minimum score seemed higher because 600 points automatically added to their CRS score if the candidates received a provincial nomination. The lowest score will equal just 152 base points without attaining the provincial nomination. The last Express Entry draw invited 932 candidates for Express Entry with a minimum score of 796.

Will the PNP draw an end here?

As per sources, it is said that IRCC is likely to resume all-program draws on July 6. Mr. Fraser, the immigration minister, stated that the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) will resume beginning of July. However, no specific date has been mentioned.

IRCC has only been conducting draws for PNP candidates since September 2021. There has been a temporary pause concerning FSWP and CEC draws, in an attempt to reduce the Express Entry Backlog, which over exploded due to the pandemic.

Since the above detail was declared, improvement can be seen in the three vital Express Entry streams. As per reports, the application inventory for June 1 includes 31,603 applicants as compared to 40,889 applicants toward the end of April.

The all-program draws could resume within two weeks, PNP draws are not likely to completely get over.

The pre-pandemic era saw IRCC conducting occasional PNP-draws. IRCC considers the PNP as supreme to support the economically developed regions across Canada.

Bill C-19 is underway to being passed in the parliament of Canada, which will further allow IRCC to send invitations to Candidates who align with the government’s economic priorities. The government has the authority to organize draws based on specific occupations where the labor shortage exists.

Express Entry in a nutshell

Express Entry is an online system that operates to manage immigration applications under the three well-known immigration programs- Federal Skilled Worker Program, CEC, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. PNP candidates must have already qualified for the eligibility criteria of any of these programs. Express Entry is primarily based on a scoring system, also known as the Comprehensive Ranking System, to provide individual rankings to candidates to let them compete against each other. The high scores received by the candidates lead them to receive an invitation to apply through which they can apply for permanent residency.

After a candidate submits his application, the IRCC officer reviews it and decides. After that, they request the candidates to submit the required documents and biometrics as well.

IRCC also sends a COPR Confirmation of Permanent Residence once the application gets approved. The candidate completes the rest of the application process once he arrives in Canada.
