Alberta Conducts Its First Provincial Draw Of 2025

Alberta conducts its first provincial draw of 2025. The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has issued invitations to apply to Provincial Nominee Program candidates in the draw.

Candidates were invited with consideration to their professional skills as well as experience and/ or ties to Alberta.

In addition, New Brunswick has provided an update on application processing via the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program after the recent reopening of its immigration programs.

Provincial Immigration Results (February 3 – 14)

Alberta conducts its first provincial draw of 2025. Let’s discuss all the immigration results in detail.

1. Alberta

The AAIP retroactively posted immigration updates from the first three draws that the PNP held in 2025, between February 3 and 6.

In addition, these draws occurred through the Rural Renewal Stream and the Dedicated Health Care Pathway (Express Entry) and Dedicated Healthcare Pathway (non-Express Entry).

Cut-off scores and the number of invitations issued vary between draws:

Date  Stream  Cut-Off Score Number Of Invitations
February 3, 2025 Rural Renewal Stream 68 190
February 5, 2025 Dedicated Health Care Pathway (Express Entry) 52 70
February 6, 2025 Dedicated Healthcare Pathway (non-Express Entry) 50 48

Note: The AAIP’s Dedicated Health Care Pathway has both an enhanced intake as well as a non-Express Entry intake. Candidates who do not qualify for the Alberta Express Entry stream but still meet all other eligibility requirements of the Dedicated Health Care Pathway can apply through the non-Express Entry intake.

2. New Brunswick

The NBPNP has provided updates on its timeline for issuing invitations to apply to candidates and its application processing in the wake of technical difficulties through its Expression of Interest (EOI) portal.

These updates follow the recent reopening of New Brunswick’s provincial immigration streams.

On its website, the NBPNP declared that it will start issuing ITAs to candidates via scheduled draws set to start in March 2025. The PNP is currently reviewing submitted EOIs.

Moreover, the province clarified that it had experienced performance issues on the Immigration New Brunswick portal due to an ‘unusually high amount of traffic’ to the site. The province further stated that NBPNP IT staff are currently working to remedy the situation.

Also, in the same update, the NBPNP advised that submissions to its Skilled Worker Stream ‘are not processed on a first-come, first-serve basis’, and that candidates just attend to the new updated eligibility requirements of its immigration programs before submitting an EOI, including National Occupation Classification (NOC) code restrictions.

EOIs submitted through the INB portal remain valid for up to 365 days from the date of submission.
