The province is working to assist employers in human resource management
The province will waive restrictions regarding hiring temporary workers and it will be in effect from the first day of May.
Applications submitted before the date will also be managed according to the new changes.
Earlier the provincial government of Alberta had the policy of ‘refusal to process’. Under which employers were provided a list of professions that would be not accepted for hiring by the Canadian Government.
The government was not processing applications that would fall in the above category of TFWP.
The reason for not hiring employees from such categories was that the province already had an abundance of workers in those specific categories.
Whereas the government was more focused on hiring employees for sectors that had a deficit of workers.
The province had admitted to waiving some of the restrictions from the TFWP category as it will promote the sectors which struggle to have adequate manpower of Canadian workers.
The province of Alberta has released 88,000 job openings.
The province will analyze the results made after the provision and decide whether to take it further so that the economy is maximumly benefited.
The sole purpose of this program is to give employers the freedom to look for and hire workers in industries with a shortage of Canadian workers.
To execute this program, an employer is liable to apply for LMIA to the Government of Canada.
The final decision of either to hire or not is upon the Government of Canada. The decision is based on if the Canadian labor market will be benefited from hiring a foreign national worker.
Although the employer needs to submit valid proof which shows that there is an insufficiency of skilled workers in Canada and they need to switch to hiring foreign workers.
If the government grants a favorable response, the employer can proceed with issuing a work permit in the name of skilled workers to the IRCC.
The country is facing a nationwide issue of shortage of labor. The country has released 8 lakh job openings.
Thus, the government is also easing the rules and regulations of various immigration programs so that the maximum number of skilled workers can be accommodated in the country.
As the country witnessed the highest job openings and lowest unemployment rate which was 5.3 percent. The government had waived many restrictions from the TFWP.
