Canada demands COVID-19 negative results from the People’s Republic of China, Macao, and Hong Kong. This temporary measure will come into effect from January 5, 2023. Moreover, air travelers (aged above one year) will require to present a negative test outcome for Covid-19 before they board their Canadian flight from the above places.
Additionally, the Canadian government demands that the traveler must present this test result taken two days before their traveling departure date. The test result could be of two types: PCR test result or negative antigen test result. It would be better to demonstrate the documentation with proper monitoring done by a testing provider, accredited laboratory, and telehealth services.
Also, the Canadian government will allow people who tested positive ten days prior to their departure. However, they will get only 90 days to submit their documentation.
Essentially, those air travelers must provide their prior positive result(the result 10 days before departure) or negative test result to have permission to enter the flight. Furthermore, all incoming air travelers from the specific region will be liable to provide the result, irrespective of their nationality or vaccination status.
Canada demands Covid-19 negative results and will implement other crucial measures
Except for the above measures taken to increase protection from Covid-19, there are other initiatives taken by the Canadian government. The new measures will apply to travelers during the Primary inspection at the Kiosks and eGates. Also, when they make CBSA Declaration before their arrival at the Canadian airports. The officials will ask them if they have traveled to China, Macao, or Hong Kong in the previous ten days.
If they respond in the affirmative, they will receive additional health information on Covid-19. Also, the officials will guide them to take extra precautions and other preventive measures against it. They will further tell them the next steps to take in the case of having any symptoms.
Interestingly, the Public Health Agency of Canada will soon introduce a project related to wastewater testing. This will be supported by the aircraft at the Vancouver International airport. The agency will also extend the established project with Toronto Pearson International Airport. As a result, they will be able to analyze Covid-19 existence in several regions across the globe.
