Canada held the latest Express Entry draw for STEM occupations

Canada held the latest Express Entry draw for STEM occupations on April 11 this year. This was the second draw of the week. IRCC issued 4,500 ITAs to candidates in this STEM occupation draw with a minimum CRS score of 491. Besides, this draw was the first for STEM occupation candidates in 2024. In addition, the first draw of 2024 occurred on January 10, with the lowest CRS score of 546. Overall, the scores under the general draws have declined over the last few months.

The last general draw occurred this week on April 10, in which IRCC issued 1,280 ITAs with the lowest CRS score of 549.

General draws primarily choose candidates from all programs like the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the FSTP. The main factor determining the chances of receiving an ITA for these draws will depend upon higher CRS scores. Conversely, this is not the same for Express Entry category-based draws.
