In the coming weeks, qualifying people from Ukraine under the category of Canada Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel can come to Canada along with their families through flights facilitated by the government of Canada
The IRCC informs the people of Ukraine via a press release mentioning that an email will be sent with all the necessary details regarding the flights.
The flights from Poland will operate through a first-come, first-served concept:
- On May 23, the first flight will land in Winnipeg, Manitoba
- On May 29, the second flight will land in Montreal, Quebec
- On June 2, the third flight will land in Halifax, Nova Scotia
The Canadian Government will offer temporary shelter facilities for 14 days to people who couldn’t arrange any accommodation facilities.
This would be the first time in the past few months when reforms for the people of Ukraine would be completely executed by the Canadian Government.
Ukrainians are offered access to flights. The Canadian Government has joined hands with Air Canada, Shapiro Foundation to let 10,000 Ukrainian enter Canada amidst war.
Under CUAET, Ukrainians with their family members can migrate to Canada with the status of temporary residents. This initiative program offers a stay of a maximum of 3 years without any eligibility regarding the nationality of the applicants.
The Canadian Government, through this program, can even offer a work or study permit which gives them the access to either study at Canada’s institutions or work under a Canadian employer.
The Canadian Government has provisions for supporting temporary migrants to reside in their communities. This will be implemented till March 31, 2023, and assistance like teaching languages, and certain services to tap the Canadian labor market. This also includes pieces of training like consultation, advising, networking, etc.
Various Canadian provinces have joined their hands with certain government and non-government organizations, and community groups to help in the residency process during the early times.
It may include familiarizing yourself with services like accommodation, financial aid, healthcare facilities, etc.
The latest statistics as of 4th May show that a total of 2,04,000 applications have been received by the Canadian Government.
Out of which, 91500 applicants are considered approved.
