Canada PNP weekly draws – two provinces issued invitations

Canada PNP weekly draws occurred again in two Canadian provinces, including Manitoba and British Columbia. These provinces issued invitations to candidates in the last two weeks under the Provincial Nominee Program.

These draws occurred while the IRCC unveiled revised selection criteria for Express Entry applicants, which may have included PNP applicants.

According to IRCC, the Express Entry PNP draws will continue to take place even though not all future draws will be for the new categories.
Many PNP streams are mirrored by selection category draws. Canada’s provinces and territories, except for Quebec and Nunavut, conduct PNP draws to choose candidates for specific National Occupation Classification (NOC) codes, occupational areas, or language proficiency. For instance, the majority of provinces have PNP immigration streams designed exclusively for IT or healthcare employees. Nearly every week, British Columbia holds targeted draws for healthcare professionals.

Canada PNP weekly draws were conducted – results between May 23 and June 2

British Columbia

On May 23 and 30, British Columbia held PNP draws.

The province invited more than 140 candidates during four draws, according to the results from May 23. The largest draw aimed towards tech vocations. It attracted 103 individuals from the Skilled Worker and International Graduates streams (including Express Entry candidates). A score of 90 on the SIRS was the minimal requirement.

Twenty candidates received ITAs in a focused draw for early childhood educators and assistants, 17 candidates in a targeted draw for healthcare professionals, and fewer than five candidates in a targeted draw for other priority professions. The minimum SIRS score needed for each of the three draws was 60.

Additionally, the greatest draw on 30 May attracted 151 candidates. They were from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled Streams (one that did not target any particular occupation). The SIRS minimum score ranged from 85 to 107.

The final three draw categories matched those from the prior week exactly. There were 14 healthcare professionals, 26 early childhood educators and assistants, and less than five other priority occupations were invited. Again, the minimum SIRS score requirement was 60 for these candidates.

Manitoba

On June 1, Manitoba invited 589 applicants from three streams.

Candidates from two different categories of Skilled Workers in Manitoba were invited by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). 262 applicants with prior job experience in the following NOC main groups made up the first category:

  • 11 – Professional jobs in business and finance
  • 13 – administrative roles and positions in logistics transportation
  • 21 – Professional occupations in the scientific and applied sciences
  • 42 – Paraprofessional jobs in the legal, social, community, and education sectors and front-line public safety services
  • 44 – Legal and public protection support occupations and care providers
  • Candidates needed a minimum score of 607 to enter this draw.

Additionally, the 240 additional Skilled Workers who received invitations did not have to be employed in any particular field. The minimum scores for these candidates were 669.

The province also invited 31 overseas skilled workers with minimum scores of 801 and 56 candidates under the international graduate stream.

On May 25, Manitoba conducted a draw in which 29 candidates received invitations under the Special Measures for Ukraine Act. This specific category focuses on Ukrainian nationals who can fulfill MPNP  eligibility criteria.
