Canada will fast-track Visitor Visa processing soon, according to the latest announcement through the Strategic Immigration Report. It is called “An Immigration System for Canada’s Future.”
The immigration department claimed that they would approach the applications with priority visa processing for people across the globe. These are individuals who attended significant conferences and events in the country with IRCC’s registration.
Following discussions with numerous Canadian stakeholders, the federal government, under the direction of the IRCC, provided the action plan that was presented together with other materials and findings.
As a result, Canada looks forward to adjusting the national immigration system to meet Canada’s dynamic economic and demographic requirements.
IRCC works with a major objective through the new immigration strategy to decrease waiting times and enhance service standards for new immigrants in Canada.
Canada’s action plan will focus more on establishing a friendly experience for new immigrants. The intention is to fast-track the processing of visitor visas. The new initiative will target faster processing for those in tourism, significant conferences, and events.
Canada to fast-track Visitor Visa processing soon
Canada has taken several other measures to make the Visitor Visa processing more convenient for immigrants. The above initiative is just one of the few measures.
In June 2023, IRCC confirmed 13 extra countries to the list of partial visa-exempt countries. On this specific list, the total number of countries is 67. As of June 6, 2023, travelers across 67 countries can move forward with Electronic Travel Authorization instead of a Visitor Visa.
This is an added advantage for eligible visitors seeking to come to Canada temporarily. IRCC stated that most eTA applications get faster approval than Visitor Visas, which is within a few minutes.
Increasing number of Visitor Visa applications
Mostly, the public emphasizes Canadian Permanent Residence as far as immigration is concerned. The idea is to invite long-term candidates to Canada. In addition, IRCC claims that temporary residents in Canada, such as Visitor Visa applicants, are not a reconsideration factor for it.
Toward the latter part of 2022, IRCC made it evident that Canada will be processing an immensely higher number of Visitor Visas across Canada.
Last year in December, IRCC noted that they would work toward reducing the application backlogs and processing Visitor Visas at a faster pace. This is in response to the worldwide dream to visit Canada.
Currently, Canada is processing an increased number of Visitor Visa applications that it processed compared to the pandemic phase.
Besides, IRCC processed over 260,000 Visitor Visa applications, specifically in November 2022.
Notably, in 2019, the processed Visitor Visa applications every month were nearly 180,000. These records indicate that the expedited processing of Visitor Visas will only prove advantageous through the new immigration strategy.
