Canada will launch a refugee pathway soon under the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot. This pathway enables Canadian employers to engage with skilled refugees and dislocated individuals. This news came through Sean Fraser’s declaration in Toronto.
According to the IRCC website, the EMPP will be introduced during the summer. Canada consists of several employers who need to bridge the labor shortage gap in chief occupations.

Therefore, the new pathway that is soon to come will support employers to confront the in-demand occupations, including software engineers, technicians, personal support workers, electrical engineers, web designers, hospitality workers, teachers, tourism, mechanical engineers, and truck and delivery service drivers.
Canada seeks EMPP expansion in the upcoming years. It plans to receive around 2,000 eligible refugees and dislocated people to bridge the labor shortage gap through the EMPP.
Moreover, IRCC is looking forward to welcoming 465,000 new PRs in 2022. The most recent Immigration Levels Plan for 2023 to 2025 has an estimated plan to welcome more PRs in 2024, around 485,000. This figure is likely to rise to 500,000 new immigrants by 2025.
Besides this, Canada received more than 437,000 new immigrants. Besides this, in 2022, the Canadian population rose to 1 million in a single year. This is primarily due to the record-breaking Canadian immigration levels and international student and worker admissions. The prominent immigration targets only aim to combat the ever going challenges within the Canadian labor market.
Overall, Canada provides more than a hundred economic-class immigration pathways. The chief immigration pathway in Canada is the Provincial Nominee Program. PNPs encourage provinces and territories to bring in candidates who can fulfill Canadian economic requirements. Other than this, Express Entry is also the most dominant federal pathway. Overall, both these popular pathways have been highly active. Recently, four provinces in Canada sent out letters of interest to candidates. Meanwhile, there were two major Express Entry draws conducted in the last two weeks. A total of 14,000 candidates have received ITAs to apply for Canadian PR.
