Air travelers to Canada will face mandatory covid testing despite being fully vaccinated.
The last time such random Covid testing was done at the Canadian airports was on June 11. After which there was a pause in these compulsory tests. However, these random tests resumed on July 19. Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver, and Toronto will be the significant airports to witness Covid testing.
Selected candidates will receive an email for the Covid testing and must undergo compulsory testing within fifteen minutes of their customs announcement. They will need to respond to how they plan to undergo a test.
Suppose, candidates haven’t undergone complete vaccination they will then have to consider virtual appointments following the tests. They might also consult pharmacy companies and maintain their quarantine conditions.
If the test on arrival results in Covid positive then the affected person will need to stay in isolation for ten days right from the date of result. This condition applies to the person regardless of the requirement of the territory or province.
To fall under the fully-vaccinated category, travelers should have already undergone two vaccine doses. He could also have one Johnson and Johnson vaccine, 14 days before arriving in Canada.
Irrespective of an individual’s vaccination status, the traveler must be tested outside the airports. The testing could be a self-swab test, virtual appointment, or even a one-on-one appointment.
Suppose, travelers haven’t yet been vaccinated with two doses, they will need to quarantine themselves for 14 days period and also test themselves on the first and eighth day.
Travelers will be liable to use an ArriveCAN to give vital information within 72 hours of arrival in Canada.
