Canadian education demography is changing due to the Indian international students. The latest report by Statistics Canada revealed an ongoing increase in the demand for Post-College Credential programs. Additionally, the popularity of these programs increased from 6 percent in 2014 to 13 percent in 2019.
Overall, PCC is renowned because it provides specific training for a career. However, the biggest reason for its popularity is the increased number of international students taking admissions at colleges. As recorded, over 65 percent of international students graduated from PCC in 2019. Additionally, out of this percentage, over 53 percent were Indian International students.
Moreover, the total number of PCC graduations in 2019 accounts for 33,200, out of which 17,700 belonged to the group of Indian international students.
This seems interesting because Indian international students continue to be a minority in other educational programs.

Eighty percent of international graduates of PCC acquired permanent residence in 2015 within five years of graduation. Usually, international students consider immigration as a factor when they select their education stream. One can quickly figure this out from the data, including master’s programs with 71 percent, non-postgraduate credentials with 69 percent, and bachelor’s degree graduates with 50 percent of those who completed graduation and achieved PR in 2015.

Overall, the number of international students from other countries received PR at reduced percentages when compared to Indian international students. This stands true for all education programs.

Statistics Canada revealed that PCC international graduates of 2015 earned $44,000 in 2019. The total amount aligns well with the earnings of the 2015’s bachelor’s graduates, that is, $47,000. This is also true compared to non-postgraduate college certificate or diploma holders with incomes of around $38,000.
