Canadian immigration from Turkey- a detailed guide

Canadian immigration from Turkey isn’t as complicated as it might appear. However, leaving one’s country and settling in another country can be life-changing. Choosing to settle in this country will provide you with various immigration pathways.

Additionally, Canada looks forward to hiring talented and skilled people from all corners of the world. Moreover, Express Entry programs, including the Federal Skilled Trades Program, FSWP, and the Canadian Experience Class, are pre-dominant alternatives to proceed with Canadian immigration.

Canadian immigration from Turkey using Express Entry

Express Entry candidates receive ranks and scores based on the Comprehensive Ranking System. An Express Entry candidate self-evaluates his eligibility for any program and further creates and uploads his profile on the IRCCs website, after which they also achieve a CRS number score.

A candidate has a significant chance of receiving an invitation to apply if the score is higher. The superior the score, the greater chance they will have to apply for permanent residency.

Also, maximizing the CRS score becomes truly important, which can be done through several factors. Individuals should know they can get an increased score if their sibling resides in Canada. Moreover, the sibling who is more than 18 years old must reside in the country with either permanent residency or Canadian citizenship and get up to an additional 15 points.

FSWP for immigrating to Canada

Express Entry’s most prominent program appears to be the Federal Skilled Worker Program, specifically for individuals having little or zero experience of residing or working in Canada.

To become eligible for this specific program, it is imperative to match up the eligibility criteria based on your work experience, language proficiency, education, and human capital factors, including age.

Like all Express Entry programs, they will have to self-assess whether they are eligible for the particular program. Furthermore, they must qualify for the given criteria to become suitable. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience as a skilled worker.
  • Possess a least score of Canadian Language Benchmark 7 for their approved English or French language exam.
  • Have at least one Educational Credential.
  • If required, present proof regarding funds.
  • According to the FSWP point grid, they must possess a minimum score of 67 out of 100.

The Express Entry application process for Turkey people seeking Canadian immigration

Once you match the Express Entry application eligibility requirements, you can create your profile and officially upload it on the IRCCs website. After uploading your profile, you’ll receive the score and enter the pool.

Additionally, after receiving the CRS score and entering the Express Entry pool, you will compete with other candidates based on your rank. Moreover, only candidates with increased CRS scores will receive invitations to apply via regular invitation rounds.

IRCC started conducting the Express Entry draws again (pre-pandemic phase) on July 6 this year. Interestingly, each Express Entry draw has its own CRS score cut-off, and eligible candidates receive ITAs based on their ranking in the pool. It might happen that you don’t get an ITA in one draw and will more likely accept the invitation in the subsequent draw. Notably, IRCC tries to process all its applications within six months; however, it might take more time depending on individual circumstances.

But once an applicant receives an ITA, he must apply within 60 days, the fixed timeline for candidates per the IRCC.

Provincial Nomination

Yet another popular way to increase an individual’s CRS score is by ensuring to receive a nomination through a province. Additionally, it will provide 600 extra points to the total CRS score, making it highly possible to obtain an ITA from IRCC.

Excluding Nunavut and Quebec, all Canadian provinces operate their Provincial Nominee Programs. Overall, these programs enable provincial governments to choose candidates who prove to be a perfect fit for that specific province.

Additionally, provinces also have the right to select candidates from the pool of Express Entry. This means they select only those candidates from this pool who have the potential to be fit for the province and can apply directly to the government to receive a nomination. We call this process the “Enhanced Nomination.” However, not all candidates might have an existing profile in the Express Entry; therefore, they can directly apply to the province.

Study Permits

Supposedly, if an individual fails to receive a higher CRS score for Express Entry, they might enter Canada as an international student. Doing so will provide you with considerable work experience, and you can use this valuable addition in your Permanent Residency application.

Besides this, you will get a chance to work in the country (being a student) for up to 20 hours a week. However, this work experience requires you to be in an academic year, and you could work full-time during your academic breaks. Make sure you remain enrolled in any of Canada’s Designated Learning Institutes.

Also, once you complete your program, you go ahead by applying for a Post-Graduation Work permit. PGWP will enable you (as a student) to live and work in Canada under an employer of your choice for up to three years. However, your work permit’s length will be equal to your study program’s duration or length. Essentially, your PGWP work experience will contribute significantly to your CRS score. For instance, if your study program has a period of two years or above, you will get to work for complete three years. Contrarily, study programs with fewer than eight months will make you ineligible for a PGWP.
