Canadian job vacancies- a brief

According to the job vacancy report of November, the total number of vacancies across all Canadian industries was reduced by 27,000 jobs. Despite this reduction, the total vacancies remain higher, with up to 850,300 vacant positions toward the latter part of 2022.

The sectors that displayed vacant positions consistently include healthcare and social assistance, scientific and technical services, and construction. Additionally, these sectors experience only a slight reduction on a YOY basis. However, this implies that the industries are currently hiring strongly, specifically new immigrants. Overall, it is these immigrants who are continuously contributing around 100 percent growth rate in the Canadian labor force.

Immigration Pathways

Several newcomers find employment as the primary means of settling in Canada permanently. Hence, Canadian immigrants must acknowledge all essential policy changes if they decide about their Canadian path. For instance, the Provincial Nominee Programs enable newcomers to receive a nomination through provinces to become permanent residents. However, they will receive the invitation based on provincial ties, in-demand professions, and education.

This year, PNPs will surpass the Express Entry programs‘ prominence. This is primarily because the entire Express Entry system will be undergoing some changes.

Since Bill C-19 passed in June last year, Sean Fraser will be developing particular immigration categories in the federal pool of Express Entry. He will do so based on education, occupation, and language proficiency. Furthermore, candidates will receive ITAs for Permanent Residence. IRCC will soon be executing these policy changes.

The above in-demand professions across various sectors with consistent vacant jobs in Canada will have significant chances of selection under the targeted Express Entry draws.
