Canadian Provincial immigration invitations issued

Canadian Provincial immigration invitations were issued recently by four provinces, including Manitoba, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, and British Columbia. These provinces sent invitations through provincial immigration programs last week.

Usually, Canadian provinces or territories work through their PNPs. However, Quebec and Nunavut prove to be exceptions. These programs enable interested candidates to receive an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination. Additionally, a provincial nomination can prove beneficial to gain permanent residence.

Moreover, immigration programs in Quebec are different from those in Canada. Also, Quebec governs its immigration programs and authorizes complete power over selecting the economic class immigrants. Reportedly, the Provincial Nominee Programs contribute at least 105,000 PR admissions every year. PNP started in the year 1988, with a steady increase in the number of PNP admissions. Also, the provincial and federal governments consider it a productive tool in encouraging economic development outside urban centers.

Canadian provincial immigration invitations- results for December 1 and December 8

Quebec

Quebec issued invitations to 998 skilled workers to settle permanently in the province. It sent these invitations on November 24 and issued 513 invitations on December 1.

The November draw didn’t specifically target the NOCs. However, candidates had to have job offers outside the Montreal Metropolitan Community, with the least score of 603 points under the Arrima Expression of Interest Score. Contrarily, the December 1 draw specifically targeted the NOCs and those who held employment offers outside the Metropolitan community of Montreal. Additionally, candidates were required to have profiles under the Arrima Expression of Interest with the least score of 589 points.

Candidates who applied under the Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program received invitations from the MIFI.

Quebec gives at least sixty days to those applying for permanent selection and submitting the fee. The province wishes to meet the processing standard of six months. The six months begin from the day the application and all documents reach the regions officially.

British Columbia

Around 188 candidates received an invitation to apply for British Columbia’s provincial nomination on December 6. The targeted tech draws in British Columbia issued invitations to 144 candidates. Moreover, these candidates received the invitations under categories such as Skilled Workers and International Graduates. Express Entry candidates are also a part of these categories.

The Tech draw consisted of candidates with a least SIRS score of 95. SIRS and CRS have the same function, the only difference being that the Comprehensive Ranking System is for Express Entry. In contrast, SIRS is only used for British Columbia Provincial Nominee Programs.

B.C also held invitation rounds for candidates involved in the following occupations:

  • Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (32)- having score points equal to 60.
  • Healthcare Workers (12) under three categories with a score of 60- Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Express Entry.
  • Priority occupations with the least score of 60 points.

Manitoba- Canadian provincial immigration invitations

This province invited 305 candidates through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. However, the candidates must meet the program’s specific criteria to receive an invitation. Overall, Manitoba invited the following-

  • Manitoba skilled workers sent 206 invitations, with the least score of 775.
  • Skilled Workers Overseas sent 43 invitations with 673 as the minimum score.
  • International Education Stream sent 56 invitations with zero score requirement.

Out of all the applicants who received an invitation to apply, 31 candidates had existing Express Entry profiles.

Essentially, Manitoba will process the Expressions of Interest received before November 16 through the earlier NOC 2016. However, it will process the rest of the EOIs received after November 16 under the latest NOC 2021.

Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island issued invitations to 69 candidates under the Labour and Express Entry Streams. In 2022, PEI invited a total number of 1,721 candidates. Moreover, Express Entry candidates who seek a nomination by the province will require to submit an EOI to the Prince Edward Island PNP.

Expression of Interest profiles will receive scores based on the PEIs point-based grid system. Similar to the CRS, the candidates with the highest scores will get an invitation during monthly draws.
