Express Entry in March 2023 set exciting records for its four chief accomplishments. Reportedly, Express Entry issued the maximum number of ITAs in one all-program draw. This is the first time a huge number of ITAs were issued since its conception in 2015.
Canada’s federal government helps run the Express Entry system and manage the chief economic immigration programs. These are the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the FSTP, and the Canadian Experience Class.
The relevance and popularity of the Express Entry system are evident through the number of immigrants Canada seeks to welcome. Each year, according to the Immigration Levels Plan, Canada must welcome nearly 82,000 newcomers through Express Entry. Also, the increased target trend will continue for the upcoming three years.
According to the latest immigration levels plan 2023-2025, Canada is all set to receive 82,800 newcomers using Express Entry in 2023. Moreover, this target will continue to rise to 109,020 in 2024 and 114,000 in 2025.
Express Entry in March 2023
Keeping this goal of Canadian immigration in mind, Express Entry accomplished major objectives in the month of March this year.
Let’s take a brief look at the major milestones achieved in March:
The maximum number of ITAs issued in a month, the second-highest of all times
Since February 2021, this year in March 2023, Express Entry has sent the most number of ITAs in a single month. During the four Express Entry draws, candidates received a surprising number of 21,667 ITAs. The total figure of ITAs also makes March the second-largest month for Express Entry ever since its existence in 2015.
Express Entry’s historic record of the largest all-program draws
The past month of March, they witnessed another achievement for Express Entry, with its new record as the largest draw for all programs. The record surpassed a previous one in January this year, which issued 5,500 ITAs. Additionally, this record made its mark on March 15, with 7,000 candidates receiving ITAs for Canadian PR. IRCC went ahead and tried to maintain the number of ITAs even in the two consecutive draws. The three weeks’ draws witnessed the same number of ITAs, 7,000.
Express Entry in March 2023- 21,000 ITAs within two weeks
The above accomplishments majorly contributed to yet another prominent figure of 21,000 ITAs in two weeks. Between March 15 and 29, three significant Express Entry draws occurred. The record trend began on March 15, and as a result, 7,000 Canadian immigration candidates received ITAs on March 23. After six days after this draw, yet another 7,000 candidates received ITAs to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence.
Comprehensive Ranking System and the lowest score within 27 months
The Express Entry system determines a candidate’s success under it based on the higher CRS scores. Furthermore, only a candidate with the highest score under the Comprehensive Ranking System’s cut-off will receive an invitation through IRCC during the draws.
Notably, the CRS scores turned out to be the lowest since December 2020. The standard cut-off scores dropped to 481, as observed on March 29. On March 15, the score was 491, while on March 23, it was 484. In December 2020, however, the draw’s lowest CRS score was 468.
What does the future hold for Express Entry?
The Express Entry draws have lately become a bit unpredictable as far as the schedule is concerned. Besides this, it is always a surprise regarding the number of ITAs and CRS scores. With each draw, the ITAs and scores keep changing. This is a result of the absence of a fixed process for conducting the draws and the number of invitations to be issued.
Reportedly, IRCC will start with the draws in Quarter two this year; however, the exact starting date is yet to be disclosed. The targeted Express Entry draws will soon come into execution and permit IRCC to select candidates based on their ability to contribute to the country’s economic growth.
The factors will involve language abilities, educational qualifications, and occupation. The upcoming targeted draws will cater to the major issues of the Canadian labor market. As a result, the provinces and territories will help in the rise of immigration impact on Canada.
