Financial aid offered to Ukrainians living in Canada

People from Ukraine living in Canada can now apply for financial assistance for their and their family’s survival and the Government of Canada is paying a total of $3,000 for an adult and a total of $1,500 for each child aged below 17 years.

In order to avail of the facility of financial assistance, the person should belong to the category of CUAET and is required to submit the respective application via the online portal of the Government of Canada.

Although the immigration applicant from Ukraine has to qualify for the below-mentioned eligibility criteria-

  • A candidate has to submit an IMM 1442 form which must include the CUAET-AVUCU remark, which is granted by the CBSA when the candidate enters the country.
  • A candidate must have a different client identifier number.
  • Valid information of direct deposit for a financial institution in Canada.

Any qualifying applicant has to complete the transaction procedure within a time period of 5 days after they have submitted the application. Although financial institutions or banks may require a surplus of 3 to 5 days to process the transaction.

People coming from Ukraine must own a bank account in any Canadian bank. The details mentioned on the bank account must resemble the details mentioned in the application of the temporary resident.

The Canadian Government advises Ukrainians who wish to work in the country to quickly get a Social Insurance Number.

Assistance from the Government of Canada

The Government of Canada is helping in many ways like offering the facility of 3 charter flights that are operating from Poland. All the Ukrainians will be offered the facility of accommodation services for 2 weeks if they are not able to arrange one. The country is working to expand the implementation of all these measures over all the Canadian provinces.

The Canadian Government is offering social assistance to Ukrainians by helping them in the settlement process, enrolling their children at schools, giving them language training, etc.

The immigration minister, Sean Fraser mentioned that the assistance to Ukrainians doesn’t stop once they arrive in the country. Instead, the country will completely cooperate and help Ukrainians in the settlement procedure. Whereas the one-time compensation is a way through which the Canadian Government is trying to help Ukrainians who may face challenges after entering a new country, Canada.

The Government of Canada has finalized a total of 1,20,600 applications from Ukrainians out of the total 2,59,000 applications received for the category of CUAET.
