The first PNP outcomes of 2024 were displayed by three Canadian provinces recently. The provinces include Ontario, Manitoba, and British Columbia. The Provincial Nominee Program assists the provincial government in selecting the most appropriate economic immigrants for the Canadian labor force. As a result, it will be a better process for them to establish themselves economically in the Canadian province. Furthermore, it will give rise to an increased retention rate for new immigrants in a province.
Each Canadian province operates separately with a PNP. Different streams under the PNP target candidates possessing particular characteristics and skills.
For instance, Ontario’s expansion of eligibility requirements of the International Graduate Stream to incorporate applicants who have fulfilled a year program at a Designated Learning Institution in Ontario.
The latest Canadian Immigration Levels Plan 2024-2026 demonstrates that Canada seeks to bring 110,000 new PRs through the PNP in 2024. This is because immigration is a mutual responsibility between the provincial and federal governments.
IRCC distributes several provincial nominations annually depending on factors such as the present population, Canadian labor force, infrastructure, and existing settlement services.
Excluding Nunavut and Quebec, all Canadian provinces or territories comprise programs and streams under the Provincial Nominee Program. Nunavut and Quebec have distinct agreements with the federal governments.

The same stream held another draw for 630 candidates working in the Skilled Trades Occupation. They had a minimum score of 33 or above.
One more draw was held on January 11, and ITAs were issued to 2,552 candidates in the Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream. In this stream, candidates already display applications within the Express Entry pool. The minimum CRS score requirement was between 350 and 424.
British Columbia PNP Outcomes
On January 10, British Columbia issued invitations to over 372 candidates in three streams under the British Columbia PNP. The total number of draws conducted was five. The most significant draw was for all programs that issued ITAs to 110 candidates from the following streams:
- Skilled Worker Stream;
- International Graduate Stream; and
- Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled Worker Streams.
Candidates under the Skilled Workers and International Graduate Streams required a minimum score of 120. Entry-level and Semi-Skilled Stream candidates had to score a minimum score of 100.
The rest of the four draws were explicitly conducted for candidates in the Skilled Worker and International Graduate Streams in particular professions. These also included 74 candidates in the Construction Occupations with a lowest score requirement of 75.
Additionally, all candidates in the rest of the three draws had to score at least 60 points to be acknowledged.
- Childcare Occupations – 113 candidates;
- Healthcare Occupations – 75 candidates; and
- Veterinary Care Occupations – Fewer candidates
First PNP outcomes of 2024 displayed by Manitoba

The Skilled Workers in Manitoba held two draws, out of which one draw acknowledged all qualifying profiles and issued ITAs to 166 candidates. They had a minimum score requirement of 607.
The other draw was conducted for Skilled Workers in Manitoba, and 168 ITAs were issued. They had to demonstrate having stronger ties with a relative in this province.
