Five Canadian provinces issued PNP invitations to candidates in the latest draw to apply through PNP immigration. These were Alberta, Quebec, New Brunswick, British Columbia and Ontario.
Most Canadian provinces welcome candidates through the Provincial Nominee Program. However, Quebec and Nunavut are exceptions, as they don’t operate on PNPs. Quebec aligns with the federal government differently because of its separate agreement with it. Immigration works mutually with an equal set of responsibilities for national as well as provincial government.
Quebec has complete control over the selection of economic-class immigrants. However, this is different in other Canadian provinces.
Acquiring a provincial nomination solidifies the Canadian Permanent Residence application for the applicants. It gives an extra 600 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System to Express Entry candidates.
Five Canadian provinces issued PNP invitations to candidates – results between September 2 and 8
Ontario
Under the Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream of the OINP, Ontario sent 300 invitations to candidates on September 7. These candidates received a CRS score between 308 and 434.
Candidates could receive invitations from any occupation as this was a general draw. However, they had to score a CLB 6 or 7 in English and French, respectively. To acquire a CLB level, candidates undergo evaluation concerning reading, speaking, listening, and writing.
Quebec
On August 24, a draw occurred for Quebec, and the province recently published the results. Quebec issued invitations to 1,000 candidates from a series of targeted occupations for the permanent selection application. Their lowest score requirement is 584. Eligible candidates must meet the score level requirement of 7 regarding French oral proficiency. Candidates with an employment offer outside the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal are given preference.
British Columbia
British Columbia issued invitations to 222 candidates through the three BC PNP draws in September.
160 of these candidates received invitations in the general draw under the Skilled Workers, Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled, and International Graduates. The lowest score requirement under the Skills Immigration Registration System is between 89 and 110. However, it depends on the stream. The rest of the two draws sent invitations to the following:
- Forty-Three Childhood Educators and Assistants;
- Nineteen Healthcare Workers
The lowest SIRS score was 60.
New Brunswick – Five Canadian provinces issued PNP invitations to candidates
The province of New Brunswick sent invitations to 259 candidates using the New Brunswick Express Entry program. This occurred in July. However, the results’ publication took time and were only recently released. The classification was under the NB PNP’s three streams. 58 candidates received invitations through the NB Employment Connection. Also, 130 candidates received invitations under the Student Connection, while 71 got them through the NB Occupations in Demand Connection. Those receiving an invitation will have 45 days to submit their application. Overall, New Brunswick sent invitations to 889 candidates under Express Entry.
Alberta
Alberta invited 18 candidates under Express Entry on August 29 through the job offer in Alberta under the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway. The CRS score requirement was 300 or higher.
August turned out to be an eventful month for the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program. This province conducted eight draws separately, with 883 Express Entry candidates who received invitations.
