Four Canadian provinces issue provincial immigration nominations. Except for Quebec and Nunavut, all territories and provinces have their own Provincial Nominee Programs to select a number of skilled economic immigration applicants who the local government believes are best suited to help the region address its local labor market challenges and demographic needs.
Note: Quebec does not operate a PNP because its government has a special agreement with the federal government. This agreement enables Quebec to maintain authority over its economic immigration.
