Four provinces in Canada declared the draw results of the Provincial Nominee Program. Usually, most of the provinces and territories operate on their PNPs, while Quebec and Nunavut have always been exceptions to this. The PNPs can provide individuals a chance to apply for a provincial nomination. Provincial nomination and permanent residence are different yet provincial nomination can lead you to attain permanent residence in Canada. Suppose a PNP candidate has a profile under Express Entry; he will receive 600 extra points to their CRS score. They also qualify to be invited for specific invitation rounds for PNP.
PNP was introduced in 1998 and initially only had around 400 immigrants, but it became successful over time, welcoming 80,000 individuals annually. The number of PNP immigrants in Canada increased only because the federal and provincial governments recognized its worth as an impactful tool to promote the country’s economic development.
Express Entry draws take place once in two weeks. IRCC had paused its all-program draws but resumed them on July 6, with the first two draws already conducted. The first program draw sent 1,500 invitations, while the second draw sent 1,750 invitations to Express Entry candidates.
