Four Canadian provinces revealed their weekly PNP results

Four Canadian provinces revealed their weekly PNP results, including Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Quebec. The three Canadian provinces nominated candidates through their respective Provincial Nominee Programs, while Quebec has issued invitations through a distinct provincial immigration program.

Eleven Canadian provinces issue nominations to candidates through PNPs. However, Nunavut and Quebec are the only places that don’t function through PNPs. Apart from these two, all other provincial and territorial governments need a separate Provincial Nominee Program to choose immigration candidates who are most fit to combat the labor market and demographic needs.

When immigration candidates receive an Expression of Interest through a province or territory, they can go ahead with it in two primary ways:

  • By directly applying to a program under PNP;
  • The provincial government can select that candidate via the applications in the pool of Express Entry.

Additionally, candidates who obtain a PNP nomination can enhance their chances for economic immigration using Express Entry. This is due to the additional score of 600 points that provincial nominees acquire through a provincial nomination. The score gets added to the score under the Comprehensive Ranking System of their Express Entry application.

Four Canadian provinces revealed their weekly PNP results between February 3 to February 9

British Columbia

Last week, British Columbia held four targeted draws under the British Columbia PNP for the following:

  • Skilled Workers
  • International Graduates

The following number of invitations were sent to candidates on the February 6 draw in British Columbia:

  • Childcare – 46 invitations issued to those with a minimum score of 60.
  • Construction Sector – 26 invitations were issued to those with a minimum score of 75.
  • Healthcare Sector – 36 invitations issued with a minimum score cut-off of 60 points.
  • Veterinary – Less than five invitations were sent to those with a minimum score of 60.

Apart from the above-targeted draws, BC PNP also issued invitations to candidates in a general draw. On February 6, it also sent invitations to 102 candidates from the following five streams:

  • Skilled Worker
  • Skilled Worker – EEBC option
  • International Graduate
  • International Graduate – EEBC option
  • Entry and Semi-Skilled Level

The Entry and Semi-skilled Level candidates of the BC PNP had a minimum score of 97. Meanwhile, other categories had a minimum score of 122.

Ontario

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program sent 2,086 Notifications of Interest to candidates eligible for the stream called Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities. The draw focused on candidates in the healthcare occupations. This draw also occurred on February 6. All candidates with a NOI showed a minimum score between 379 and 430. On February 8, the OINP held three more draws. One of the draws occurred under the Human Capital Priorities Stream. In addition, two other draws occurred under the Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream. The results of the draw are as follows:

  • Human Capital Priorities Draw – 2,118 candidates in the tech occupations received invitations. their minimum score range was 471 and 480.
  • Employer Job Offer (International Student Draw)– 1,182 candidates received invitations with scores above 78 in a general draw.
  • Employer Job Offer (International Student Draw) – This was a targeted draw in which 1,252 candidates received invitations with scores above 73. This draw occurred for healthcare and tech occupations.

Apart from last week’s PNP results, Ontario’s government has also decided to cancel the OINP Entrepreneur Stream’s application receipts. Although the cancelation occurred on December 4 last year, the announcement about the same occurred last week.

On February 5, Ontario declared that the province will not be accepting any new NOI applications. Individuals can ask their queries on [email protected].

Quebec

Quebec also published the results of a draw conducted on January 24 last week. This draw invited two distinct groups of candidates, and each had separate eligibility requirements. Overall, Quebec issued invitations to 1,007 individuals to apply for permanent residence.

Quebec operates through a unique agreement with IRCC that enables it to practice complete control over Quebec’s economic immigration policies and procedures. This province doesn’t function through a PNP.

The first group of candidates who received invitations on January 4 had to demonstrate a valid job offer outside CMA’s territory. The province didn’t target any occupations or other human capital characteristics.

In addition, the second group of candidates participated in a target-specific draw. This group had to fulfill the minimum score requirement of 615 to qualify for this draw. In addition, they also had to fulfill the following eligibility conditions:

  • Possess an oral proficiency score of 7 for the French language or its equivalent. This is according to the French proficiency levels for adult immigrants per the Quebec scale.
  • Demonstrating a valid and authentic employment offer outside CMA’s territory.

Candidates who managed to obtain an invitation must proceed to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate. Furthermore, they must apply for permanent residency status to IRCC.

Manitoba revealed its weekly PNP results

Manitoba published new results from the latest EOI draws on February 8 and invited 282 candidates. Under the Manitoba PNP’s Skilled Worker in Manitoba’s stream, 151 candidates received Letters of Advice to Apply who had close acquaintances in the province. The candidates required a minimum score of 619. Manitoba, under its International Education Stream, also issued Letters of Advice to Apply to 83 candidates.

Lastly, Manitoba PNP’s Skilled Worker Overseas Stream enabled the provincial government to issue 48 Letters of Advice to those with a minimum score of 713.
