In July 2021, Canada welcomed about 40,000 immigrants.

In the year 2021, Canada has welcomed almost 184,000 new permanent residents, claimed by Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino,

Canada seems to be on the pace of receiving 401,000 new permanent residents in 2021

In a recent interview, the Canadian national government acknowledged to Reuters that Canada welcomed about 39,500 emigrants in July, over 35,700 in June.

Starting in 2021, Canada’s Immigration Threshold Program 2021-2023 aims to accept 401,000 emigrants each year. Welcoming 341,000 migrants’ annual goal was created before the COVID-19 outbreak.

Immigrants, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is undertaking the most comprehensive immigration strategy in Canadian history to welcome more people to help the country recover from the COVID epidemic. Almost 184,000 new migrants were pulled into Canada in the last few months of 2021.

The monthly counts of migrants in July and June were substantial compared to the previous months, and they are among the prominent in the record. If Canada is to reach its target this year, it must catch up.

In order to meet the target of bringing 400,000 migrants for the last five months of 2021, IRCC would need to pull in 217,000 foreigners, which is an approximate equivalent of 43,400 every month.

It will be hard to acknowledge this amount every month by the end of 2021, but it is possible. Before the epidemic, Canada accepted 25,000 to 35,000 emigrants per month at least.

Several variables are working in IRCC’s favor, allowing it to reach or surpass its levels goal by the end of 2021.

First, after the relaxation of travel bans on June 21st, an extra 23,000 Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) holders are now eligible to migrate to Canada.

In addition, everyone who has just been accepted for permanent residency in Canada is now free to move to Canada.

Nearly 90,000 overseas student graduates and critical resources settling in Canada were established in May 2021 under six new permanent residence trails. The IRCC expects to be approved 40,000 applications before the end of 2021.

IRCC has been hosting significant Express Entry draws for the entire year of 2020 and this year, on the hierarchy of Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applicants, who account for 90% of all Express Entry applicants. Before 2022, IRCC should complete the PR procedure for the biggest percentage of those applicants.

The dynamic nature of the epidemic, on the other hand, may cause IRCC’s preparations to be disrupted.

Nonetheless, the higher pace of permanent resident arrivals could help Canada get closer to its goal of 401,000 newcomers. Even though IRCC manages to welcome approximately 40,000 immigrants every month for the rest of the year, Still it would be a shortage of the goal to bring 385,000 new migrants in 2021, which is going to be the second-highest number in Canadian history. In the year of 1913, 401,000 migrants were settled in Canada, setting a remarkable target.
