International Experience Canada- major changes on the way

International Experience Canada will expand the capacity of applicants in the pool in the upcoming year. The Canadian government also declared the new opening date at Banff’s Press Conference in Alberta. The date is January 9, 2023.

This program provides the opportunity for young individuals between 18 to 35 years old to travel and work in Canada and vice-versa. However, these individuals must be from any 36 countries that collaborate with Canada.

As per reports, the application sale for International Experience Canada will increase to 20 percent, with near to 1,5000 additional spaces. As a result, as many as 90,000 candidates will have a chance to travel and work in the country. This figure will also include Francophone youth, which will assist employers in filling labor gaps and enhance Canada’s tourism industry by incorporating seasonal work opportunities.

Sean Fraser also stated about this situation and remarked that the Canadian government looks forward to assisting more international youth to continue working and traveling in Canada. Additionally, it is also working toward helping more Tourism industry employers hire suitable workers. He further claimed that the government is providing opportunities for international youth to travel and work in the country to strengthen the economy and help businesses gain success. They specifically focus on places like Banff because of the need for seasonal help.

Overall, the modifications in the IEC program will allow Canada to accomplish Canada through two primary goals: the first one is to help employers hire the kind of workers they require, and the second one is to let the youth navigate through new opportunities like exploring new cultures, languages, and societies. They will also be able to build certain skills and improve their future job prospects.

International Experience Canada- some more details

The International Experience Canada program comprises three chief streams; they’re as follows:

Work Holiday Program

Participants under the IEC program of the Work Holiday stream get access to an Open Work Permit, allowing them to work within the host country. Furthermore, they get support for their traveling purposes.

International Co-op (Internship)

The International Co-op stream under the IEC program provides employer-specific work permits to its participants. This work permit enables candidates to emphasize work experience within their study field.

Young Professionals- Stream under International Experience Canada

This stream, like the International Co-op stream, provides employer-specific work permits to students. However, it not only provides these students with focused and professional work experience in their study area but also enables them to gain the ability to tread on the career path of their choice.
