On February 15 the province of British Columbia has called for 140 tech immigrants to apply for BC PNP.
BC PNP Tech issued invitations for tech skilled workers and this stream is managed and controlled by BC PNP.
The province of Canada allows experienced, high-demand skilled workers from abroad to enter Canada in the province of British Columbia through the BC PNP stream. This program provides the opportunity to immigrants who wish to reside in British Columbia to get permanent residence.
The applicants invited through BC PNP Tech draws will need to meet the eligibility criteria of BC’s Express Entry and Skill Immigration. Both these programs are managed by SIRS.
Candidates under the category of Skilled Workers and International Graduates receiving the applications will need to have a minimum score of 85.
BC PNP Tech program
The BC PNP tech program was introduced in May 2017 as a leading project to study the labor market which ultimately found out that the province lacks skilled professionals mainly in the tech field. After the outcome of this project, the province decided to give it a title of a permanent program. This program enables qualified skilled workers who reside globally and wish to move to British Columbia to work in the technology sector.
The BC PNP is an immigration pathway that connects high-tech professionals and international students. Interested candidates need to categorize themselves amongst 29 available job occupations with a valid job offer of at least one year. The job offer should be from an eligible employer.
The invitation is sent out to the top-scoring candidates through the province’s tech program every 7 days.
The provincial nomination demands for submission of a complete application. After completing this procedure, the majority of tech applications will be further processed within a time period of 2-3 months.
Approved candidates will get a confirmation notification for the means to apply for Canadian PR.
PNP candidates are rewarded with 600 CRS points and thus it becomes easier to get an Invitation to Apply.
