In June, IRCC also maintained its steady pattern of alternating draws between the Canadian Experience Class and PNP categories. The draws held on June 26, June 23, June 12, and June 10 show this ongoing trend.

With this latest round, IRCC has now issued 45,201 invitations to apply (ITAs) through Express Entry so far this year.

Express Entry Trends In 2025

IRCC invites 3000 CEC candidates with the lowest CRS in 2025. The data so far for 2025 shows that IRCC’s Express Entry draws have mostly focused on candidates who are nominated through a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The next largest share of invitations has gone to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates — people who already have Canadian work experience and often find it easier to settle quickly into the Canadian labour market.

French-language proficiency draws and targeted category-based draws, such as those for healthcare and social services or education professionals, have made up the remaining share of invitations.

A clear pattern has emerged this year — IRCC is consistently alternating draws every couple of weeks, targeting either PNP or CEC candidates. This regular back-and-forth has provided more predictability for candidates and employers alike, and aligns with Canada’s plan to prioritize candidates with strong ties to local labour markets or work experience within the country.

Draw Type Number of Draws
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) 12
Canadian Experience Class (CEC) 7
French-language proficiency 3
Healthcare and social services 2
Education 1

The CRS cut-off of 518 for this latest CEC draw is the lowest cut-off score seen since September 2024, which could signal a positive trend for CEC hopefuls with moderate scores. As more draws take place this summer, many will be watching to see whether the cut-offs remain steady, drop further, or fluctuate as IRCC works through its ambitious immigration targets for 2025 and beyond.
