IRCC sent 4300 ITAs in the most recent Express Entry draw – What is Express Entry?

The Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and FSTP fall under the immigration application management system called Express Entry. One of the most well-liked entry points for economic immigrants to Canada is one of these three programs.

Human capital factors like job experience, professional fields, language proficiency, education level, and age enable the evaluation of candidates.

A Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) produces a score and ranks these candidates by these criteria. The likelihood of receiving ITAs is higher for those with the best scores after the specified cutoff date for a draw.

On May 31, the IRCC unveiled new selection criteria, emphasizing applicants’ professional and demographic traits rather than solely their CRS score. Six new categories for Express Entry applicants resulted from this:

  • STEM professions;
  • Agriculture and Agri-Food;
  • Transport;
  • Trades;
  • French-language ability; and
  • Healthcare

Both these categories aim to promote the use of French outside of Quebec and fill urgent employment openings in the Canadian workforce.
