IRCC started holding Express Entry draws in late June based on category selection. There are a total of six categories that are essential to meet particular economic objectives.

The Globe and Mail reported that IRCC would place a greater value on recruiting STEM vocations based on details derived from it. This year, between 28% and 31% of invites issued through Express Entry will go to individuals with recent expertise in specific STEM fields. These will include software developers and data scientists.
There has only ever been one batch of STEM invitations, which 500 applicants received.
Compared to other occupational groups, STEM careers have a substantially higher objective. The desired range for fluent French individuals is specifically 11% to 15%. The aim for specific healthcare occupations is nine to twelve percent; for trades, it is three to four percent; and for transportation and agriculture, it is one to two percent.
Express Entry
Express Entry is the method that IRCC employs to manage applications from skilled professionals seeking to immigrate permanently to Canada. It oversees the Canadian Experience Class, the FSTP, and the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
Candidates attain ranks using the Comprehensive Ranking System after submitting a profile through Express Entry. USING A METHODOLOGY USING POINTS, the CRS evaluates candidates according to their age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and other factors. The Canadian government will choose the highest-scoring applicants from the Express Entry pool. Further, these candidates will obtain an Invitation to Apply for Canadian permanent residency.
There are three types of draws available through Express Entry:
- General rounds of invitation: IRCC extends invitations to applicants for permanent residency to individuals with the highest CRS scores.
- Invitation rounds unique to a given program: Those who qualify for a particular Express Entry program and have IRCC invites have the best CRS scores.
- Invitation rounds based on categories: IRCC invites those with the highest CRS rankings who qualify for particular categories it has selected to further particular economic objectives.

For Express Entry applicants, IRCC has lately begun holding category-based selection drawings. The following occupations or excellent French language skills will gain priority by IRCC for Express Entry candidates:

Three draws for French language proficiency have been conducted since the introduction of category-based draws. These draws invited 6,900 individuals to submit applications for Canadian permanent residence. There have also been two draws for healthcare jobs that invited 2,000 people each. Also, another one for a trades occupation that invited 1,500 applicants.
