Latest immigration draw result from numerous Canadian Provinces

Several Canadian provinces announced their results of the Provincial Nominee Programs in the previous week.

Provincial Nomination and Permanent Residence aren’t the same, they differ from each other, but getting a provincial nomination can double the chances of permanent residency.

Quebec and Nunavut are the only exceptions to all the provinces and territories in Canada operating with the PNPs.

Candidates under PNP with Express Entry profiles will receive 600 extra points to their total score. They will also acquire the eligibility to receive an invitation to apply for PNP in Specific invitation rounds.

Initially, PNP welcomed only 400 immigrants after its launch in 1988. But, later, it gained popularity and welcomed over 80,000 immigrants annually. The provincial and federal governments acknowledged PNP as an excellent pathway to contribute to the Canadian economy.

Express Entry draws happen once in two weeks and IRCC has returned to its all-program draws after a long pause. The first Express Entry draw for all programs was first held on July 6, 2020, with 1,500 candidates and a minimum CRS score of 557.

However, the latest Express Entry draw for all programs was held on July 20, with 1,750 invitations being sent to the candidates.

The number of Express Entry immigrants to be welcomed by 2024 will only increase to 111,500 as estimated by the Canadian government.

PNP and Arrima draw results for Quebec (18th to 22nd July)

The British Columbia PNPs take place every week and the latest BC PNP was held on July 19. Over 165 invitations were sent to the candidates for a provincial nomination.

The weekly draw involved activities related to specific sectors. The Tech draw witnessed 139 invitations sent to candidates. However, to qualify the candidates must fulfill the requirements of the categories of British Columbia’s Express Entry BC or Skilled Immigration. These two categories fall under the management of the (SIRS) Skills and Immigration Registration System.

A minimum score of 85 must be fulfilled by the candidates who were invited to the draw.

Invitation rounds were also conducted in the provinces for candidates in the following occupational fields:

  • 18 Early Childhood Educators and Assistants.
  • 8 Healthcare Workers- minimum score of 60.

British Columbia declared to discontinue its one-year temporary pause for the BC PNP Entrepreneur Base category.

Suppose a candidate has experience in Entrepreneurship, they have the chance of receiving an invitation for periodic draws of provinces by remaining in the pool.

Manitoba

366 candidates received invitations under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) on July 14.

The invitations received by the candidates can be classified into three immigration streams:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba: Candidates received 293 invitations with a minimum score of 699.
  • Skilled Workers Overseas– Candidates received 33 invitations with a minimum score of 715.
  • International Educational stream– Candidates received 40 invitations with zero scores required.

55 candidates had their Express Entry profiles created among all the others who received invitations to apply.

Manitoba was also initiated by responding to the Ukraine crisis. The province issued 11 ITAs to Ukrainian nationals to apply for a Provincial Nomination.

Ontario

The province of Ontario sent 33 invitations to candidates under the Entrepreneur Stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) on July 15, 2022. The candidates who received the ITAs had scores between 146 to 176 points.

Prince Edward Island

PEI PNP sent 165 invitations to candidates for immigration on July 21. Candidates with maximum invitations belonged to the Express Entry and Labor Impact with a total of 138 invitations. The rest of the 27 invitations belonged to Business Impact candidates with a minimum score of 60.

Prince Edward Island conducts a monthly draw and also reveals its yearly schedule in advance.

Saskatchewan

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) released the July 14 invitation round results, declaring 627 invitations sent to apply for a provincial nomination.

The second draw of SINP was conducted in two weeks and is being considered the largest draw for 2022. The July 14 draw witnessed 430 invitations issued to Express Entry candidates and 195 invitations concerning the In-demand Occupations. The requirement for the Expression of Interest under both categories was a score of 69 with work experience in 20 occupations.

Saskatchewan sent two invitations to Ukraine nationals as a response to the crisis in Ukraine.

Quebec

Quebec is devoid of PNP because it has the majority of control over its immigration system compared to other provinces.

An Expression of Interest pool called Arrima exists for candidates interested in applying through Quebec’s immigration system. They must apply with their profile through the Expression of Interest pool.

The officials under Province invite only those who fit the immigration program’s criteria.

Candidates receive ITAs for a provincial nomination or a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ).

MIFI sent 351 invites to candidates to apply through the QSWP (Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program) to get selected permanently.

Candidates are required to have their profiles created under Arrima’s Expression of Interest with a minimum score between 551 and 624 points based on the targeted occupations. They can also hold a valid employment offer outside Montreal’s Metropolitan area.
