Three Canadian provinces have invited potential candidates under their specific regional programs to apply for nomination. The nominating provinces include Alberta, British Columbia, and Quebec. All the provinces & territories in Canada other than Nunavut and Quebec employ their Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) to invite immigrants from overseas. Find PNP results for Alberta, British Columbia, and Quebec below.
In Canada, federal and provincial governments share the responsibility of immigration to address the country’s several needs. These programs enable each participating provincial and territorial government to welcome skilled immigrants who can assist them in achieving their two regional objectives:
- Manage the urgent labor market needs
- Lower the most prominent demographic challenges in their region
It’s notable that the province of Quebec does not have a PNP. This is because Quebec’s government has an agreement with the federal government that permits the authority over its regional economic immigration.
