Manitoba And Alberta Issue ITAs For Provincial Nomination

Manitoba and Alberta issue ITAs for provincial nomination. 

In the first Provincial Nominee Program draw of the year, Manitoba issued more letters of advice to apply to applicants under the Skilled Worker Overseas and Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream. 

In addition, Alberta has updated its provincial nominations for last year, having held one large draw on December 23, 2024. 

Manitoba 

On January 9, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program held draws under two streams.

The first draw was conducted under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, which invited 145 applicants. The lowest-ranked applicant in this draw had a ranking score of 838. 

In order to be considered for this draw, the applicant or their spouses should have completed post-secondary education in Manitoba. 

The second draw took place under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, with a region-specific selection for the Winkler area. In the draw, 52 applicants were invited. The lowest-ranked applicant in the group had a score of 615. 

In total, 197 Letters of Advice to Apply were issued, and 52 were issued to applicants who had declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.  

Alberta 

Manitoba and Alberta issue ITAs for provincial nomination. 

On December 23, 2024, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program held a draw through the Alberta Opportunity stream, targeting applicants who met several key eligibility criteria. 

A total of 588 invitations were issued, with the lowest-ranked applicant invited having a score of 55. 

In order to qualify, applicants required: 

  • a valid eligible work permit (excluding Post-Graduation Work Permits), which expires on December 31, 2025, or later.
  • a full-time job offer from an Alberta employer in an eligible occupation, excluding occupations in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) categories ‘1 – Business, finance, and administration occupations’ and ‘6 – Sales and service occupations.’
  • To have at least a high school education equivalent to Canadian standards
  • a minimum of 12 months of work experience in Alberta
  • Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) level 4 or higher
