Manitoba Draw Invites Skilled Workers For Provincial Immigration

Manitoba draw invites skilled workers for provincial immigration. Last week, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted a targeted draw for foreign candidates who maintain a strong connection to the province.

On May 15, the province issued a total of 62 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream.

Out of these 62 invited candidates, eight individuals declared both a valid Express Entry profile and a job seeker validation code.

The candidate with the lowest score among the selected candidates had a ranking of 626.

Only those who submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) and were invited directly by the MPNP as part of a strategic recruitment initiative were considered in this draw.

Eligibility For Manitoba’s Skilled Worker Overseas Stream

This permanent residency route is open to foreign nationals residing outside Canada who can show a strong and verifiable connection to Manitoba through one of the following pathways:

  • Support from friends or family members residing in Manitoba
  • Previous work experience or education in the province
  • An Invitation to Apply (ITA) issued under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative

Each form of connection comes with its own set of requirements, which candidates must satisfy in order to be deemed eligible under this stream.

Apart from demonstrating an established link to the province, candidates must also achieve a minimum score of 60 points on Manitoba’s assessment grid.

This grid evaluates candidates based on five core criteria:

  • Adaptability
  • Age
  • Education
  • Language proficiency
  • Work experience

Strategic Recruitment Initiatives By MPNP

Manitoba draw invites skilled workers for provincial immigration through strategic recruitment efforts. The MPNP uses these initiatives to help employers fill workforce shortages by connecting them with skilled international talent.

These initiatives are aimed at employers who can demonstrate an urgent and ongoing need for skilled labor not currently available in Manitoba’s local job market.

To participate, employers must:

  • Satisfy specific eligibility requirements for the positions they are seeking to fill
  • Successfully complete the ABC Recruitment process mandated by the province

Once approved, employers can refer international candidates who meet the necessary qualifications.

Candidates must also have a permanent, full-time job offer in Manitoba and intend to live in the province.

Preference is given to those planning to reside outside the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region.

It’s important to note that individuals cannot nominate themselves under this category. They must be identified and selected by the MPNP through its internal process.
