Manitoba holds the biggest draw of the year for key jobs, i.e., on April 23, 2026, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held a new immigration draw.
In this draw, the province issued 308 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs). This is the largest draw held by Manitoba so far in 2026.
Results Of The Latest Draw
Manitoba issued LAAs under two selection components in Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #269:
| Selection Component | Stream/Pathway | Basis For Selection | LAAs Issued |
| Occupation-specific | Skilled Worker in Manitoba | Current employment in health occupations (NOC category 3) | 192 |
| Strategic recruitment | Skilled Worker Stream (Manitoba + Overseas) | Direct invitation under a recruitment initiative | 116 |
| Total | 308 | ||
Out of the 308 LAAs issued, 105 were given to candidates who had a valid Express Entry profile and a job seeker validation code.
Selection Based On Occupations
In this draw, 192 candidates were selected under the occupation-specific category. These candidates were already working in Manitoba in health-related jobs.
Moreover, these jobs fall under category 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
To be selected, candidates needed to:
- Declare current employment in Manitoba in that category;
- And lastly, meet all Skilled Worker in Manitoba eligibility criteria.
Candidates who applied under the International Education Stream (IES) were not included in this selection.
Selection Through Recruitment Programs
The remaining 116 LAAs were issued under the strategic recruitment category.
These candidates were invited directly by the MPNP through special recruitment programs. They were selected under the Skilled Worker Stream, including both Manitoba and Overseas pathways.
Here is how the invitations were divided under different recruitment programs:
| Strategic Recruitment Initiative | Number Of LAAs Issued |
| Employer Services | 61 |
| Francophone Community | 15 |
| Ethnocultural Communities | 14 |
| Regional Communities | 14 |
| Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP) | 12 |
In comparison, the previous draw on April 9 (EOI Draw #268) issued only 32 LAAs under the strategic recruitment category.
Moreover, in this latest draw, 116 LAAs were issued under the same category. This is almost four times higher than the previous draw.
Why Some Candidates May Not Have Received An LAA?
Some candidates may meet the requirements but still not receive an LAA.
The MPNP explains that this can happen for a few reasons:
- You indicated that you took an approved third-party English/French test, but did not provide a valid test number in your EOI, or the test results had expired; or
- You stated that you received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) under a strategic recruitment initiative, but the invitation number entered was not valid.
If this happens, candidates can update their Expression of Interest (EOI) with correct details. This may help them get selected in future draws.
