Maximizing Job Opportunities from the Express Entry Pool

If you look forward to maximizing job opportunities from the Express Entry Pool, you’re in the right place. Canada’s labor market growth needs economic immigration programs, which are significant and have resulted in an absolute increase in the national workforce over the past few years.

Due to immigration’s crucial role in the Canadian economy, employment options often intersect with immigration programs. This further helps Canadian employers fill job vacancies they might struggle to fill domestically. A prime illustration is employers’ capacity to recruit from the Express Entry candidate pool.

Understanding the employers’ choice to hire workers via Express Entry

Canadian employers access the Job Bank’s Job Match feature to offer jobs to candidates through Express Entry. The Job Bank serves as the primary federal platform for job listings, offering an array of employment-related services and resources, including career planning tools, labor market information, and hiring assistance, among others.

The Job Banks uses the Job Match feature to align an employer’s job posting with the system’s profiles that align with the job requirements within a job advertisement. Once the recruiters identify these candidates, an employer can analyze whether to hire them or not. The Job Match feature under the Job Bank acknowledges all candidates within this system and not just those under Express Entry.

If an employer after fulfilling all parameters beforehand feels that they must offer a job to a foreign national worker in the Express Entry pool, they will need to submit a positive or neutral LMIA.

The government uses the Labor Market Impact Assessment to evaluate a foreign candidate’s impact on Canada’s labor market. Therefore, the LMIA document must provide a positive or neutral impact to support the foreign national the Canadian employer seeks to hire. However, there are circumstances under which an LMIA requirement will no longer be valid.

After securing an LMIA, the employer will need to offer a valid job to the foreign national candidate according to the standards of Express Entry.

Maximizing Job Opportunities from the Express Entry Pool – How can newcomers get jobs through Express Entry?

Express Entry pool’s newcomers seeking Job Bank’s “Job Match” feature must adhere to the following:

  • Possess a valid Express Entry profile with a job seeker’s profile number and validation code.
  • Establish a Job Match account or profile which differs from the Job Bank account. However, the services fall under the same category. Note: The Job Match platform will request that applicants fill in their Express Entry details when creating a profile.

IRCC provides the Job Seeker Validation Codes that permit qualifying profiles to look for work in Canada. These codes along with the profile number exist once the candidates submit their profiles to the Express Entry pool.

Candidates without a job seeker validation code must connect with IRCC. Furthermore, once both accounts are set up and merged, newcomers will be aligned with Job Bank’s postings. Express Entry candidates will only receive job posting advertisements on the Job Bank for the next thirty days.

Individuals having issues while syncing their Express Entry and Job Match accounts will need to follow the specific steps given below:

  • Ensure you have used your own validation code and Express Entry number. Each individual will have unique codes, which they can’t share even with their spouses. The system will only allow candidates to use these validation codes and Express Entry profile numbers once. Note: Each candidate must only provide their individual Express Entry credentials.
  • Make sure that the exact numbers or codes are visible in your account. Also, you must type the codes manually instead of copying and pasting.
  • Ensure that you verify if there’s any need for you to update your Express Entry details. Also, these accounts have an expiration date and are valid for one year. Make sure you don’t end up using invalid credentials.
