Ontario and two other Canadian provinces sent PNP nominations

Ontario and two other Canadian provinces sent PNP nominations last week, including British Columbia and Manitoba. Each Canadian province and territory, excluding Nunavut and Quebec, runs its separate PNP. These programs enable provincial governments to choose economic immigration candidates who contribute significantly to the local economy and integrate effectively. The Provincial Nominee Program is one of the prominent pathways that can lead to permanent residence. The concept was generated in 1998 to promote the economic immigration advantages across Canada in place of a few urban centers like Vancouver and Toronto.

These PNPs have various streams that help welcome candidates based on their eligibility programs for international students. These also include candidates who have employment offers in the province or have gained experience in particular professions.

The PNP results of Ontario

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee program sent 209 Expressions of Interest to candidates under the Foreign Worker Stream of the Employer Job Offer. All candidates have a minimum score of 53. The draw focused on candidates with skilled trades professions. This draw was the first one since January 9, when the province issued ITAs to 630 candidates.

British Columbia

The BC PNP conducted a comparatively smaller draw on April 23 and invited 86 candidates from the streams: Skilled Workers and International Graduates, including EEBC candidates. These candidates received invitations through five draws focusing on specific occupations. The largest draw issued invitations to 45 tech occupation candidates with the lowest score of 120.

The province also issued invitations to 19 candidates in healthcare occupations with the lowest score of 95 points. In addition, 11 candidates received invitations, implying those in construction and childcare occupations. Childcare candidates had to score a minimum score of 92, whereas construction occupation candidates needed the lowest score of 95.

Lastly, below five veterinary occupation candidates with a minimum score of 85 also obtained invitations.

Manitoba

The most recent Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program draws invited 327 candidates on April 27. Manitoba issued invitations to candidates from three streams, including 203 candidates from the stream called the Skilled Worker in Manitoba. This stream invited candidates who had completed their post-graduation in this province. These candidates needed to fulfill a minimum score requirement of 811 to obtain an invitation.

66 candidates under the International Education stream received invitations. However, no minimum score requirement is mentioned. Lastly, the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream invited 58 candidates as a part of the strategic recruitment measure. The minimum score requirement for these candidates was 644.
