Media reports claim that Ontario is working on OINP’s alignment with the new NOC 2021. The new NOC system is already accessible to Employment Development Canada and Statistics Canada. However, IRCC will also execute a system in November.
This specific step will affect the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. This implies modifying the eligible occupations for every stream. For instance, ONPs falling under Ontario province initially required work experience and employment offer for NOC skill types A, 0, and B. However, the new change predicts that the requirements would come under TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3.
The Employer Job Offer-In Demand skills stream under the OINP required an employment offer for NOC skill levels C and D. However, now the employment offer will have to come within NOC 2021’s TEER 4 and 5 occupations. NOC 2021 is going to witness alterations in the NOC labels. Also, this will significantly affect the eligibility of streams.
New criteria- NOC 2021
The new system of NOC 2021 with its complete details is visible on the official websites of IRCC and Statistics Canada. The latest OINP updates will be made public on the websites.
Ontario looks forward to proposing a new requirement from applicants under the Employer Job Offer Foreign stream. The requirement will be to accomplish a CLB 5.
The new language requirement would align best with the program’s objective to encourage the successful integration of employees. The new criteria will also prevent the OINP and applicants from being misrepresented. It will also protect the other integrity-related concerns of the program.
The Employer Job Offer International Student stream and its education criteria are under discussion. Ontario seeks individuals applying with a minimum one-year certificate to fulfill the requirement of the Ontario College Graduate Certificate under the Ontario Qualifications Framework.
Applicants under the International Student Stream will gain more clarity and feel relieved while applying with the certificates of one year.
On the whole, Ontario will also make modifications associated with the monetary penalties of OINP.
Ontario’s Regulatory Registry will make all the changes visible to the public. The province looks forward to gaining feedback on the changes that will be implemented until October 21.
NOC 2021 will soon impact the eligibility under Express Entry
IRCC is likely to execute the changes in NOC 2021 on November 16. All the eligible occupations under Express Entry will also affect the eligibility for PNPs in sync with Ontario’s Express Entry.
