Ontario inviting more Express Entry candidates

PNP candidates are the only ones who have to take the Express Entry draw from last year. The immigration minister had hinted that the commencement of the Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Workers Program will begin in the near future.

Candidates of Ontario scoring more than 467 points will be restricted from getting the nomination. This is why the candidates are trying to deplete their scores.

Considering Immigration Levels Plan 2022-2024, the province of Canada is aiming to bring 83,500 immigrants from the Express Entry system and PNP streams. The government has increased its target as compared to the previous year’s plan.

Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream invites CEC candidates

Ontario’s Express Entry system helps in bridging the Canadian PR for the candidates who are under the category of CEC and FSWP.

The eligibility criteria for candidates are that they should be residing in Ontario with a permissible work permit. In addition to this, a year’s experience of full part work or part-time work is also required in the skilled trade listed in Minor Group 72, 73 or 82, Minor Group 633, under Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC)

Although a job offer letter is not necessarily required for applying under the Skilled Trades Stream, the candidate should meet all the important provincial and federal requirements.

The first step towards applying for the provincial nomination is to set up a profile and submit it to the Express Entry system.

Express Entry system

Express Entry is an online application management system that enables immigrants to directly apply for Canadian PR. The Express Entry system handles all the work related to the applications of FSWP.

Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria of more than 1 program must set up a profile in the Express Entry system. After the completion of the online profile, the candidates are provided with a score that is based on various factors like age and educational qualification. The high scorer candidates are then issued an invitation to apply for Candian PR.
