PNP draw results announced recently had three Canadian provinces which issued invitations to apply for Canadian PR. Ontario, Manitoba, and British Columbia invited the candidates. Excluding Quebec and Nunavut, 11 of the other Canadian provinces function through their PNPs. The Provincial Nominee Program enables the candidates to receive a Provincial Nomination. Overall, acquiring a Provincial Nomination can further lead them to obtain Canadian Permanent Residence.
The Quebec province itself governs the immigration programs, and these programs vary from Canada’s immigration programs. This is the only province with absolute power over selecting economic-class immigrants.
Additionally, the Provincial Nominee Program brings at least 105,000 permanent residents annually. The PNPs came into being in 1998, with a consistent rise in the number of PNP immigrants. Moreover, the federal and provincial governments believe that PNPs have impacted places outside the urban centers by enhancing the economic development within those areas.
