Three provinces in Canada sent invitations through the Provincial Nominee Programs to eligible candidates to apply for immigration.
Quebec and Nunavut function through their own set of Provincial Nomination Programs, unlike the other Canadian provinces and territories. PNPs open a pathway for eligible candidates to receive an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination.
The province governs Quebec’s immigration programs, and these programs significantly differ from the Canadian immigration programs.
With its gradual popularity, the PNP was initially introduced in 1998 and has admitted over 80,000 new immigrants each year. PNP Canadian admissions increased over time because the provincial and federal governments had faith that PNP played a massive role in contributing to Canada’s economic development. Provincial nomination and permanent residence aren’t the same. Additionally, provincial nomination takes you a step closer to acquiring a permanent residency status from IRCC.
