PNP draw’s latest outcomes were recently revealed. PEI, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia issued invitations last week. February witnessed two Express Entry draws, while last week, only candidates under the Provincial Nominee Programs received ITAs.
The provinces and territories of Canada run their PNPs, except for Quebec and Nunavut. Via these initiatives, qualified persons may be encouraged to apply an application for provincial nomination. Individuals who receive nominations through the province might have an advantage when applying for Canadian permanent residence.
Almost 105,000 PR admissions every year result from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The annual number of PNP admissions started in 1998 and has been gradually rising ever since. The federal and provincial governments perceive it as a valuable tool for incubating economic growth outside urban areas.
In recent times, IRCC held two Express Entry draws this month, including one last week in which only PNP candidates were awarded ITAs. Individual provinces can identify job prospects with the training and credentials they need to fill local labor gaps and enhance their economies through PNPs.
PNP draw’s latest outcomes between February 11 and February 17
British Columbia
On February 14, British Columbia issued invitations to more than 232 candidates to apply for a Provincial Nomination. The province gave ITAs to candidates under the categories: Skilled Workers and International Graduates, including Express Entry candidates with the least score of 83.
SIRS functions only for British Columbia but is similar to the Comprehensive Ranking System. Skills immigration in British Columbia formulates five streams explicitly developed for individuals already possessing diverse skills and experience. Out of the five streams, four have an Express Entry BC alternative. Additionally, the fifth stream applies to Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled Candidates. Furthermore, it indicates that they are without work experience under a NOC code to gain Express Entry eligibility.
British Columbia conducted invitation rounds for candidates under the following occupations:
- Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (Twenty-Nine) have a minimum score of 60 points.
- Twenty Healthcare Workers under the categories: International Graduate, Skilled Workers, and Express Entry, with the least score of 60.
- Priority occupations with a score of 60.
Saskatchewan
On February 16, the first draw of 2023 occurred for the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. This province issued at least 177 invitations to candidates via the Express Entry Stream and 243 ITAs under the In-demand occupations stream. Both streams demanded a score of at least 84 points.
The province also issued one invitation to an individual who held Ukraine’s residency. This was an attempt by the country to compensate for the Ukraine crisis in the best possible way. Furthermore, 468 ITAs were issued.
Prince Edward Island- PNP draw’s latest outcome
On February 16, Prince Edward Island also issued ITAs to 222 candidates using the Labor and Express Entry stream of the PEI Provincial Nominee Program. Also, six candidates received invitations under the Business Work Permit Entrepreneur stream, with a minimum score cut-off of 70.
Moreover, Express Entry candidates who wish to receive a nomination by PEI must display an Express of Interest to the PEI PNP.
Profiles under the Expression of Interest receive scores using the unique point grid system. Additionally, candidates with higher scores receive ITAs in the subsequent draw held each month. This system bears similarity with the Express Entry CRS.
